Grounding Monitor Interrupters (GMIs)

A GMI is an electrical safety device installed in RVs with 30-amp or 5O-amp service. The National Electrical Code (NEC) is requiring Grounding Monitor Interrupters (GMls) to be permanently installed in all new RVs. Current expectations indicate that the requirement will likely apply to Model Year 2028 RVs, which would make June 1, 2027, the earliest possible enforcement date.
